Katie Holmes left carrying daughter's giant cuddly toy... as Suri goes hand-in-hand with grandma on family day out

Doing little to dispel the notion that her daughter's a little princess, Katie Holmes became her five-year-old's first entourage member today.
The 33-year-old was left with her progeny's giant Olivia the Pig Ballerina toy while Suri walked hand-in-hand with Katie's mother Kathleen in New York.
Devoted mother Katie couldn't have looked happier, however, as she made way for the two most important women in her life to bond.

And Suri was carrying a brightly-coloured tote, while clutching grandma's hand with the other, so she wouldn't have managed with the toy.
She looked lovely, too, in a stunning frilly blue and lavender floral dress with a matching tailored jacket and silver pumps.
Kathleen was not to be outdone, and looked lovely in a cream suit offset with a fashionable bright pink shirt.

She added more colour, in blocking style choosing red to go with the pink, by donning patent Roger Vivier shoes worth around $500.
Katie looked casual but elegant, which continued her renaissance after her appearance on the streets of New York with scraggly wet hair.
The day afterwards she ensured her locks were on luscious form as she stepped out with a perfectly-coiffed mane.

After initially wearing her hair loose, the former Dawson's Creek star then pulled her hair back into a tight ponytail.
Katie had enjoyed a late dinner with daughter Suri and her mother Kathleen Holmes earlier in the week - so perhaps the actress had simply slept in and was running late yesterday as she suffered a bad hair day.
Or it could have been that the Jack and Jill star was trying to let her hair dry naturally, avoiding the harsh impact of blow drying.

Either way Katie emerged from her building teasing her hair across her head with one hand and a large coffee in the other.

The mother-of-one also appeared to be make-up free as she left her home - choosing instead to show off her natural beauty.
Katie had donned a chunky-knit cream jumper and a pair of dark trousers for a simply style statement.
